Lucia Francis
Trainee Counsellor
Lucia has recently completed her 2 year Advanced Diploma training in Integrative Counselling at Heartwood. She is also informed by her training as an Occupational Therapist and has many years of experience working in mental health in a variety of different settings including wellbeing and recovery teams and also postnatally in parental mental health teams.
The work that she has loved to do is often creatively inspired and has involved many outdoor land and nature inspired projects which is why she is drawn to the ethos of the Apricot centre and the symbiotic relationship between land and wellbeing that is harnessed here.
Her work with clients is very focused on what they are bringing in the moment and meeting them holistically ‘where they are’ - drawing integratively on Person centred, Gestalt and CBT to meet the unique needs of each individual. She is inspired by recent training that she has completed in somatic therapy and polyvagal theory which also inform her practice- exploring ways to help re-regulate our nervous systems.
