Jo Godding
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP)and Play therapist
My practice is trauma informed and I have 20 years’ experience of working with children and families in a variety of settings, for example private practice, school settings and specialist provisions. More recently I have worked predominantly with Adopted and Looked after children and children who are neurodiverse.
I am trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) Level Two (DDP informed practice), and Nurturing Attachments. I work with parents/carers and families to provide a therapeutic parenting approach using the principles of PACE to help them make sense of their child’s behaviour and remain emotionally available to them during very difficult times.
I am also a qualified Play Therapist and registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am passionate about helping children, young people and their families and specialise in delivering attachment focused based Creative Arts Therapy to young people between the ages of 4 and 18 individually or with their families, using the core principles of DDP and PACE.
