A Dartington community Bioblitz hosted by the Apricot Centre - 13th May
A Bioblitz is an exciting opportunity to explore, record and learn about the local habitat. There will be stalls with special interest groups and experts to talk with and who will give guided walks. Bioblitz is a communal citizen-science effort to learn about an drecord as many species within a designated location and time period as possible. And where public participants and scientists work together to document the biodiversity of a specific location. People are already recording on iNaturalist !
Imagine stalls, themed walks, chat and discussion, bringing samples or photos to identify, using the iNaturalist app, food and refreshments, and some guided farm tours at Huxhams Cross.
The main event is 1-5pm but you will see that there are activities all day. Meet from 5pm at Meadowbrook for Pizzas and Beer, and more activities, and there is a batwalk from Meadowbrook around 9pm.
Get your Bioblitz tickets here - we are making sure it’s accessible to all. FULL details can be found on the Eventbrite page. There are activities and events all day including a morning visit to - a great chance for the local community to visit for a reduced price (again accessible to all - but only 25 places!)
