A leafy herb from the mint family. Basil has a sweet, strong aroma and flavour. It is a key ingredient in mediterranean cooking and is the ideal partner for tomatoes.
We will occasionally substitute our award-winning Organic Beetroot with the Italian heirloom variety Organic Chioggia (also known as Candy Stripe). Chioggia beets inherently contain the highest content of geosmin, an organic compound which gives them a deep earthy flavor and aroma - Boil, puree, juice, grate, roast, add to cakes plus much more. Be creative!
Organic Brussel Top Sprout - The very top of the brussel sprout plant. It has a very sweet cabbage taste. Use in all the many ways you would a cabbage.

Mixed or 'rainbow' chard has vibrant red, yellow and white stems. A relative of the beet, chard has big, glossy, tender leaves with crunchy stems. The leaves have a mild, sweet, earthy flavour and the stalks have a sweet beet like flavour. Great in stir fries. Chop into salads or pasta dishes. Sauté or steam. Another versatile vegetable.
In garlic chives the normal mild onion flavour of the common chive is replaced by a pleasantly sweet garlic flavour, especially when the leaves are young. Use as a replacement for bulb garlic or as you usually would the common chive.
Coriander has wonderful citrus overtones. With it's attractive, green leaf it is an invaluable garnish and flavour enhancer. Both the fresh leaves and stalks are edible.

Fresh ginger used in cooking can really enhance flavour, especailly when used in stews, soups and curries. It is also great in sweet dishes.

Healthy kale, usually a mix of our kales on offer. . Use much the same as spinach.

Freshly picked sweetcorn on the cob can't be eaten. The plump kernels are fantastically sweet, juicy and full of flavour. Boil them in water, but don't add salt as this can make them tough. Add butter and a pinch of pepper, and try not to get it all down your best top! Alternatively, cover in a balsamic vinegar and herb marinade, then throw them on the BBQ. Delicious!

Thyme has a flavour which is overlaid with a lemony tang. It works well with Mediterranean vegetables, eggs and fish. It's quite hardy, so can withstand long cooking times.
Deliciously sweet and juicy cherry tomatoes grown in our tunnels on the farm. Roast them to make a fantastic pasta sauce, eat them raw in salads, sandwiches and salsas. Or just as a snack on their own. Tiny mouthfuls of sweet sunshine!
